The China adoption paperwork is always changing. Yesterday, our adoption agency social worker contacted me to let me know we had a “hiccup” in our dossier paperwork. The secretary of state in Wisconsin said that she couldn’t verify the notary because the notary used improper language to notarize Terry's employment form. The words were all there. They were not in the order the Wisconsin secretary of state wanted! The other thing is that the Consulate has started requiring a signed G1 form for each document that is authenticated. This was another form that I needed to complete and sign. But, the one thing we could control, we failed. Terry forgot to sign his passport. Terry signed his passport; a photocopy was made, and a copy was placed in the mail to our adoption agency today. After a quick scramble to get more paperwork together, I pray that we encounter no more errors or that China does not add any additional documents.
Please keep praying for our sons’ in China. We are praying for their health, their nutrition, their care-takers, and for God's protection to shelter them.
Well, rest assured all your hoop-jumping and red-tape .... busting? will be worth it in the long run.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering, do your new sons know about you guys? Did you send a video for them to watch? Must be pretty exciting/scary/amazing for them also.
Anyone that has adopted is aware of the mountains of paperwork that must be completed. What gets me is how the requirements keep changing.
ReplyDeleteLaurie, The boys have not been able to communicate with us or us with them. We pray that happens soon. We know that one of our future son's knows he is going to be adopted.
